A life cut short

9/02/2023

Angela Therese Bourke was born in Ballarat on the 18th November 1959 to Maureen and Thomas Bourke of Napier Street.  She is the middle child of 5 siblings, Mary, Chris, Cecilia and Vincent.  Angela lived in Ballarat her whole life and attended school at St Columba's Ballarat North before going on to be educated at Sacred Heart College and St Martin's in the Pines.

Angela worked for 15 years at BEST Employment making several life-long friends, and for 5 years worked at MatchWorks Employment Services.

She married the love of her life, Glen Loader on the 10th October 1981 at St Columba's Church and went on to have two children Matthew and Michelle.  Glen was diagnosed with cancer 2012 and Angela stopped work to care for him until he died in 2016.  After his death, Angela worked hard to set herself up for retirement and an overseas trip with friends. She was the rock of the family after Glen died and showed her children how to be strong when life kicks you down.

Tragically Angela was killed on the 16th April 2021 when crossing the road on her way to work and was hit by a garbage truck.  In her obituary, she was described by her family as a loving, caring, and patient daughter, wife, mother, and sister.  She carried herself with grace, and inspired others to be their best through her example.

Angela is buried with her husband Glen at the Ballarat New Cemetery, Sunset Gardens Row 4 Grave 43
